The introduction of the Super Pop brand on the Portuguese market dates back to 1972, produced at the time by the Unisol group, Sociedade de Distribuição e Exportação, which belonged to Quimigal. In 1990, the latter sold part of the Unisol Group to Colgate Palmolive, which then held 100 per cent of the brand's rights until the end of 2013, when BrandCare, now Sodalis, took control of the brand for Portugal and other potential markets.
Over the last few decades, the Super Pop brand has come to be known as a Family Brand, i.e. a family brand whose effectiveness, trust and use is passed down from parents to children. As well as the quality of the product, the brand's high profile is underpinned by successful campaigns such as those starring João Baião or Rita Salema.
Super Pop is a national brand, produced in Portugal and one of the brands with the most notoriety and implementation in the Portuguese market.
